Cabin Level Up
People often ask what is the next thing we are going to build or add, and I am thankful to share that in the next few years we don’t plan to add very much new but rather LEVEL UP, improve, what God has already given us. We would like to level up cabins, staff homes, the lake, Homestead, Rendezvous, Twig, and several activity areas. The first cabins to level up are two that we have taken off-line—Dawson/Dakota (pictured above) and Laramie/Laredo. We would like to take the duplex bunkhouses and turn them into one extra large western cottage with a king-size bed for couples’ retreats. The extra large cabins could house up to 14 youth or 8 adults, which means we need two restrooms, two showers, and three sinks, as well as other bells and whistles on the enclosed insert.
The real value of building cabins has nothing to do with the building but rather the souls that are able to hear the truth of God’s Word because a bed was available. Based on the averages of the our 45 years of ministry, one cabin will last about 40 years, have 2800 summer campers as well as 4200 “off season” campers, and see 300 salvations. Eventually the cabin will burn up and be demolished, but the souls that are changed while staying in this cabin will exist for all of eternity. The real value of investing in this temporal building is the eternal results!
Dakota, the first one remodeled, has been a big help to groups that needed a little more room. To give, use the PayPal button below or text any number and the keyword “cabin” to 84321 (e.g., “10 cabin”).
