Path2Pastor

Ironwood’s mission statement includes the simple phrase, “serve local churches.” One of the calls that we routinely get is a man on a church’s pulpit committee asking if we know of anyone qualified and looking to become a pastor. As a camp that serves churches, we know that the health of our ministry is directly tied to the health of the churches we serve. Our goal is to give churches the tools they need to do the discipleship that God has called them to. The advent of online education, the need for experience and knowledge, and starting this process as early as possible are all good reasons for us to try to help churches in this area.

We believe that the way pastors are trained will begin to shift in the next few years. Seminary will be at the church; the process will not be thought of as just something that happens at college. We hope to be a hub of communication of best practices as each church works to mentor and disciple the pastors of the next generation. The Path2Pastor became a natural next step for Ironwood as we continue to provide the tools necessary for churches to accomplish their great commission. Yes, they can do it without Ironwood. Our goal is to help them do it better.

The mission of Path2Pastor is to glorify God by providing resources that assist churches to identify, recruit, train, assess, and equip future pastors who will possess sound doctrine and Christlike character, and be anchored by biblical philosophy.
