Staff Housing
Every gift is a huge blessing!
We have a good problem . . . At first we thought it was just a one-time high moment that would shrink back down. In 2022 we had the most campers that we have ever had. Would it happen again? Yep! In 2023 almost every weekend was full of serving churches and schools. We added staff and began planning for another camp zone called Rusty’s Ridge. We’ve added six cabins and have two metal buildings that can be used for meeting rooms, game rooms, and stores after we put them together. We continue to have churches that would like to add to the calendar, but there is no room.
And we have a bigger problem . . . We need to add resident staff in order to serve added campers, but we have run out of homes. Currently we are using a dorm and the first aid station for family housing. This fall we submitted plans to build a home, and we have a double-wide storage modular that we could remodel into a home. Homes are expensive to build, and the estimates for what we need seem impossible—$380,000 for two homes (1850 square feet and 1440 square feet plus garages). So far have saved $70,000 and have $60,000 pledged, which means we need $250,000. These added homes will allow us to add staff so that we can serve more campers.
But we have an even bigger God . . . Over the years we have seen God provide 80 acres for $1, give us an 8,000 square foot office for $550, provide over $400,000 in three months for the MAG shop, and drop over a half million in our laps to finish the Hacienda. I am confident that God is capable. I know that He lets people be part of His work. We are in a good spot where all we can do is pray to God and ask Him for help. I’m excited to see what the Lord will do through His people!
Thank you for your prayers and support. Please keep your church and many churches across the country in your prayers as we have an opportunity to be a bright testimony to a dark world. We give thanks for the many pastors who work diligently to shepherd their flocks. We thoroughly enjoy serving churches and are thankful for the trust and privilege to serve.
